Generous Practices

Generosity is a quality that is like unselfishness. Someone showing generosity is happy to give time, money, food, or kindness to people in need.
Generosity is a quality like honesty and patience that we all probably wish we had more of. When you show generosity, you might give away things or money or put others before yourself. But generosity is about more than cash and stuff. When you’re forgiving and gentle to people, you show generosity of spirit. If you give others help or credit, that shows generosity. The world would certainly be a better place if more people showed generosity to others.

Mother Teresa

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier” This quote by Mother Teresa perfectly describes what her life was about. She was a Roman Catholic nun known for caring for the poor in India. She decided to make a difference in people’s lives by running an organization called the Missionaries of Charity involved in helping the less fortunate. Mother Teresa is a deserving hero because of her acts of selflessness, dedication, and compassion towards the poor but perhaps her greatest accomplishment was inspiring so many people to also serve the poor. She focused on only one idea “to serve the poorest of the poor”. Mother Teresa eventually became famous because of her works with people in poverty. She was honored with many awards throughout her life and most famously, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She refused the traditional Nobel honor banquet, instead requesting that the $192,000 budget be given to help the poor of India. This is an inspiration because she teaches people to care more about others rather than themselves. Also, it proves that good things will come out of helping other people. Mother Teresa was generous and considerate when it came to helping others less fortunate than her.
